Cold Storage PCM

PCM cold storage utilizes phase change materials (PCM) to store freezing/refrigeration energy. This next-generation technology minimizes temperature fluctuations and increases energy efficiency by operating the freezer overnight, storing heat energy in the PCM, and then releasing it during the day. It boasts advantages over conventional cold storage, including more stable temperature maintenance, superior cooling performance, and reusability, making it ideal for cold chain logistics and food storage.

  • Cold storage: This method freezes the PCM at a specific temperature (e.g., below freezing) to store energy and releases the heat when needed to provide cold air.

  • High energy efficiency: Compared to sensible heat storage, this method offers 3-5 times greater heat storage capacity, reducing freezer operation time and thus saving electricity costs.

  • Stable temperature maintenance: Minimizing rapid temperature fluctuations prevents food quality deterioration and reduces drying.

  • Various applications: In addition to cold storage, it can be used in cold storage applications, including freezer packs and refrigerated trucks. Its reusability makes it environmentally friendly.

  • Energy Cost Savings: By utilizing nighttime power or increasing freezer operation efficiency, you can save up to 40% on electricity costs compared to conventional warehouses.

  • Reliability and Durability: By reducing the number of freezer on/off cycles, you reduce the risk of system failure and extend equipment life.

  • Emergency Temperature Maintenance: Even in the event of a power outage or equipment failure, the cold energy stored in the PCM maintains temperature for up to 20 hours, preventing logistics accidents.
